Birthday Presents..

It's been a month since my birthday..
I've wanted to write a post about my birthday presents since I dunno.. a month ago?
But as you guys probably already knew.. I'm a true procrastinator, so I just didn't do it..
So here we go.. (The fact that I'm writing this rite now proves that I'm procrastinating..O_o)

Meike brought me birthday cake all the way from London.

She even brought a knife so we could eat the cake rite away.. and guess what.. we did..in the middle of inorganic chemistry lecture.. hahaha.. so we were munching happily while the professor were talking.. ;P

So here are my birthday presents...

On the top right..it's a birthday card from my sis.. I love every card she sent me..^^ ouu.. I heard she bought me hoodie.. yeay..
errr.. does that mean no map the soul book album for me??

Next to the right.. it's a pooh bowl from Chrischani.. She told me that she felt bad because she couldn't give me a better present.. and I told her it's okay.. I love everything that has something to do with Winnie the Pooh..^^

Next one.. It's a freaking blender from the doctors.. I've always wanted to have a blender.. but I just realized.. I do need to peel the fruits before I toss into the blender, rite? -_-;; Btw, mine is more sophisticated than my sis'.. hahahaha..

Next.. I got a book and name label stickers from Meike.. Name label stickers.. I left mine back there in Jakarta.. I like to put a name label on my books..

Then.. I got ugly dolls and hair pins from Debo and my cousin.. Finally I have an ugly doll.. and u knoe what.. it is really ugly.. as in it really looks dirty.. hahaha..

Last but not least.. I got little miss sunshine sweatshirt and a self-made birthday card from Nita..
hahaha.. She actually asked me what did I want.. and I told her to see my wishlist.. but in the end she gave me a sweatshirt. I didn't list sweatshirt if I'm not mistaken..but I'm such a huge fan of sweatshirt lately..

In conclusion.. I love all the presents.. oh puh-leaassee..everyone loves presents.. -_-;;

All of sudden.. I remember about them.. hahahaha.. gosh.. it's been more than 10 years..
I was not a fan of boyband when I was a little girl.. but my sister was..
But I remember I was the one who introduced Code Red to my sis.. I first saw them on MTV.. I was such an MTV freak back then.. I saw this music video (MV).. and I was like.. not another boyband.. and gosh.. look at the MV.. it's so lame.. and they're so not good looking..
So.. I knew that they were coming to Jakarta and told my sister about it..
she was such a crazy fan girl back then...she really did what a fan girl would do.. she went to the hotel where the boyband stayed.. she went to the meet and greet.. (yes.. and she didn't wanna go to Epik High meet and greet..><) she went to the showcase..and stuff like that..

My sister didn't like them at first.. I mean.. just look at the MV.. but it turned out that these boys were really nice in person.. plus.. their manager was quite good looking.. hahaha.. so..my sister became their fan.. and her friend also.. (her partner in crime)

Believe it or not.. I did (or still do?) have a picture of me with the boys.. yes.. all of them.. No.. I was not a fan of them.. and no.. I did not become one either..
So what's the story behind it?
One day my sister knew that Code Red would go to Planet Hollywood to have dinner. I have no idea how she knew about this. She was indeed a true fan girl. Okay.. back to the story. She told me and my mom to go to Planet Hollywood first "to have dinner", since she would be late because of her English course, so that she was allowed to get in to Planet Hollywood later. So we went to Planet Hollywood and yes, they really had dinner there. It seemed that the other fan girls knew about this too, but of course the security guy wouldn't let them in.
So the brilliant idea worked, my sister and her friend were allowed to get in because her mom and her little sister were having dinner inside.
In the end the boys were having this photo session, since there were many fan girls waiting for them. My sis and her friend went to this photo session.
We were done with our dinner and my mom were busy with the bill. I just sat there waiting.
Then it happened..........................................................................

My mom realized I was still there and she was like.. why on earth are you still here and not going to the photo session with your sis?
I was like.. why on earth should I do that?
In the end I was scolded by my mom for not going to the photo session thing and of course I cried. (just to remind you guys.. this happened when I was 10 or 11)
We were still there when the photo session ended. The photo session was in the VIP room or sumthin', I can't remember. My sis came and my mom still scolded me (and I was still crying)
Then the boys came out from the VIP room and my mom forced me to take a picture with the boys. She even told my sis and her friend to call them over. WTH??? (I was still tearing)
And voila.. the boys came and I got to take picture with them...all of them.They even tried to cheer me up, they hugged me, one of them, I can't remember who, even wiped my tears. WTH?? At that time I didn't say a word.. Oh come on.. I was 10 and I was such a shy little girl back then.

So I'm going to clarify this now, if one of them happen to land here and read this.
Boys, I didn't cry because I couldn't take a pic with you,but I was scolded by mom for not taking pic with you guys. But I have to admit you guys were really nice, thank you for being nice to me. Honestly I had no interest in taking pic with you guys, but I guess that made my mom happy, so I just did it for my mom's sake. No hard feeling, okay?

P.S.: Hey sis, do you think we still have the picture?

Sempurna Battle

Which version do you like? This song was really famous back then.. I dunno.. a year ago.. 2 years ago..

The 1st one is the original version by an Indonesian band named Andra and the Backbone.

The 2nd and 3rd one is a remake by an Indonesian talented female singer named Gita Gutawa. (Sorry, I'm Gita-Gutawa-biased ;P)

The 4th one is also a remake by a singer named Nicholas Teo. I have no idea who he is. I just found this on youtube this morning..

For me.. Andra and the Backbone's version won.. not because it was the first one I heard.. But the acoustic feel makes the song pretty catchy.. unfortunately.. they're not really good at live..

Gita Gutawa's version.. She remade the song for a movie soundtrack.. Version 1.. I would say it would be a perfect background music during the credit title.. I like this version better then her 2nd version.. I admit she has a beautiful voice.. but somehow her voice makes the song sound sad.. at least for me..

Nicholas Teo's version.. as I said I have no idea who he is.. but thanks to google and wikipedia.. ;P I guess he's pretty famous in Malaysia.. since I don't understand Mandarin like at all, I have no idea what he's saying (or singing). He also used acoustic guitar as accompaniment like the original version, but he also added other music instruments so it gave the song some kinda pop feel.. What I don't understand is..what's with the "sempurna"? Why on earth does he have to mention the word "sempurna"? I know it's the title of the song, but why can't he just translate it to Mandarin or just omit it? It sounds weird..and the fact that he rolled the R when he said "sempurna" made it even weirder..

But hey.. that's what I think.. It's just a matter of taste.. I believe everyone has a different taste in music.. so be nice to me..!!

I just know that my name has a meaning..

What funny is.. my Christian name is also Margaretha.. Gosh.. I just revealed my Christian name to public for the 1st time.. hahahaha.. so..let's take a look what Margaret means..

Okay.. so from now on I know what to say if someone asks me what my name means.. not just say that meta is the ungünstige (what is it called in English? unfavourable?) position compares to ortho and para.. errr..that sounds so chemistry.. yeaa.. I'll stick to pearl.. haha..

Question.. why am I still at home at this hour??
First of all.. my first lecture for today starts at 10..
Second of all.. I think I'm gonna skip lectures today..(yups.. plural..)
I'd rather stay at home and continue learning for my exam and be a good person..
I don't wanna sit there in the lecture hall and curse the professor every second..
Although I like my last lecture for today.. which is radiochemistry...
but.. I still has a lot to learn.. -_-;;
I have to pass the exam no matter what..

P.S. : Wonder why I still have the time to write all of this nonsense instead of learning..

I'll have my first ever presentation in German in less than 24 hours.. *hyperventilate*
I did practice a couple of times..but I'm pretty sure I will forget everything tomorrow..
what worries me a lot is whether the others will understand me..oh come on.. I'm a foreigner.. what do you expect? ;P
and the fact that I suck at public speaking is also one of the reason why I'm so scared..
Thinking about how I have to stand in front of people, explain things that I don't understand in language that I still suck at, scares the heck out of me..
What if someone ask questions? I'm not really a quick-thinker, so I can't answer things on the spot like that..
I think I'm gonna stand there with my blank mind like an idiot tomorrow..-_-;;

Actually I'm kinda Epik High biased..
So here's the story.. My sister wouldn't go to the meet and greet in SF..
But then the morning before the concert she found out that her friend was going to the concert..
So I asked him to get me a copy of the book album.. but unfortunately all the merchandise were sold out.. crazy, isn't it??
He said the concert was awesome.. I read all the fan accounts in mapthesoul.com, they all said the same thing.. it was great.. and I saw a few fancams in youtube..
yeaaa.. my sis wouldn't like it.. hahaha
Anyway.. I guess I just have to ask my sister to buy me the book album.. (and I see green light here..^^)

So apart from Epik High.. the second single from Super Junior is stuck in my head.. It's from the repackage album.. the company sure know how to gain money from those crazy teen fan girls..
Anyway.. I really like the song.. it's an upbeat tempo kinda song..
I've been listening to the song for like 5 times in a row in a day..
